Affiliation with other associations, professional organizations, civic or community activities, and accomplishments
I spent the last 2 decades building a career and family. The majority of my civic activities involved volunteering at my daughter's charter school and various community theater groups she was involved in. Now that she is an adult I would like to focus on other community opportunities and have found my professional association as a great place to start.
Strongest attributes
I am fair minded and open to hearing others opinions and suggestions then make a decision. I am an excellent problem solver and calm in crisis.
Candidates’s definition of leadership
A good leader is one who understands the importance of having the perspective and opinions of others to give guidance. Someone who is willing to get as much information as possible on a subject and hear all possible courses of action. Then after gathering information, a good leader is willing to make a decision and stick with it, regardless of others opinions.
Candidate’s vision
I would like for membership to be more aware of what these entities do for us and the community on a daily basis.
A Few Words from Sallie ...
Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself.
I have been a Residential Property Manager and Broker for over 16 years. I have served on several committees and as such, I have seen first-hand everything the Association Leadership and Canopy Housing Foundation volunteers and staff do to promote our brand and membership on a daily basis. It is inspiring and I enjoy being a part of it. My goal, should I gain a seat on the Board of Directors, is to represent the concerns and needs of our membership in an open minded, thoughtful approach to solving problems. I feel like I would bring a unique perspective to the board and look forward to the opportunity to learn.
When I am not working on a sale or property management issue, you can find me on the lake, riding motorcycles or just enjoying time with my husband Mark of 28 years, our 22-year-old daughter Carman or playing with my 1-year-old Wire Fox Terrier Chester. I truly appreciate your taking the time to participate in our election and for your vote!
