Strongest attributes

I think about the greater good. Focus, Attention to Detail. Looking for new opportunities and different ways to approach a problem to find a solution.

Candidate’s definition of leadership

I believe good leadership as Chair of a Regional MLS, owned by a Realtor® organization, entails a blend of strategic vision, operational expertise and member engagement.  I feel confident in my ability in all these with many years of service in our Realtor® organization and Canopy MLS, from the committee level to my roles in the Board Room and Executive committee. I’ve been involved in every Canopy Strategic Visioning session for the past decade. I lead our 2024 Governance Task Force that ultimately lead to the further separation of governance between Canopy MLS and Canopy Realtor® Association. This has led to this new Canopy MLS Chair position I am running to fill.  This will lead to a separate Executive Committee over the MLS and the Association, giving strategic focus to the effectiveness of each organization for its members and the public.

Candidate’s vision

I see our MLS starting a new chapter, right here, right now.  There has been a lot a change and upheaval in our industry over the past several years.  To be honest, it feels to me that we have been taking all the punches.  With the restructuring of Canopy Governance, we have an opportunity to truly do what is best for our MLS membership as a whole.  The gloves are off and it’s time to fight for what we believe is right in our industry.  We can grow our foot print so members aren’t paying multiple MLS system fees to services their clients.  We can make decisions on Clear Cooperation that best suit our market place, members and clients.  We can make an MLS system that provides unmatched tools and services to help our members compete fairly with one another while lifting the professionalism of all.  I’m excited to help shape the future of where we go, together from here.
