Ashley Wheeler Joins Canopy Realtor® Association as Senior Vice President of Association Operations

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Canopy Realtor® Association has hired Ashley Wheeler, as Senior Vice President of Association Operations to oversee key Association areas including member services, marketing and communications, Canopy Real Estate Institute and Canopy Housing Foundation.

Wheeler, is an industry veteran with 25 years of experience with both not-for-profit and nonprofit organizations. She joins the team of professionals at Canopy, from the Orlando Regional Realtor® Association with more than 20,000 members, where she served as Vice President of Members Services and Development. During her six-year tenure in Orlando, she oversaw membership, professional development, councils and technology departments. Under her leadership, the association had a 68% increase in membership and a substantial increase in educational offerings and revenue streams.

Prior to working in the real estate industry, she served 18 years as the Chief Operating Officer for the Commissioned International Coalition, a nonprofit serving up to 12,000 volunteers and community leaders, assisting start-up non-profits in identifying and defining their community purpose and corporate culture.

Wheeler reports directly to Anne Marie DeCatsye, CEO of Canopy Realtor® Association, Canopy MLS and Canopy Housing Foundation. The addition of Wheeler to the staff will enable DeCatsye to focus more on future growth and expansion of the Association and MLS, as well as expanding the Canopy brand within and outside the real estate industry.

Wheeler holds the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) e-Pro® Certification, Realtors® Property Resource (RPR) Trainer Certification, At Home with Diversity Certification and has earned the National Association of Realtors® Commitment to Excellence (C2EX) endorsement. While in Florida, she served as Vice Chair and Chair of the Local Education Directors Committee, and as a member of both the Curriculum Sub-Committee and Professional Development Committee for Florida Realtors®. She served as Chair and Vice Chair of the Local Education Directors for NAR, and as a member of the NAR Leading Edge Advisory Board. She is currently serving on the NAR Professional Development Committee.

A native Floridian, Wheeler received her associate of arts from Tallahassee Community College.
